Hey so glad you came around,
I’m here to talk about our skin. It is our largest organ and it shows the wear and tear of our lives. That being said, a journey shows differently with each person, as you well know. My thought isn’t that we compare ourselves to others as evaluate how you see and care for yourself. So having said that I have a personal story to share with you.
. . . SKIN
My Story –
I was 13 when I started having skin issues. We didn’t know what they were caused from – there was acne, rashes like eczema and I was miserable. But I didn’t know what to do about it! We went to the Doctor about the rash. All that I remember him saying was that I was allergic to something. I don’t remember him naming any foods but I do remember him saying that maybe I was allergic to my sister, and then he laughed. WHAT how could that be? I thought he was a little crazy. Thankfully, he didn’t prescribe anything except Calamine lotion for the itch. That did nothing for me but make the itch stronger, so I stopped that in a hurry. Lanolin was a life saver for me but it was hard to come by the real thing that wasn’t a synthetic version.
We didn’t know where to turn and so I was left to survive on my own and try not to scratch. Well, that is not a great solution at all and the itching continued for many years. Yes, I have scars from both skin issues. Summertime was better but not long enough when you live in the north.
Making Changes –
So let’s fast forward to more current years. I came in contact with a gal that was doing a class on hormone balance – of which I didn’t know too much. So I took it and that was the first time that food was brought up as an issue for me. I really didn’t like all that she was suggesting but I knew that I’d be entering menopause and I wanted answers before I got there! This is a journey that I’ve continued – making changes slowly, but steadily fighting back those long ago ideas that were so mainstream and still are today.
My journey with Young Living started before the class on hormones and I was grateful for products and people that were moving me in the right direction. Do you find that as the journey goes, more and more doors open for the answers to the questions you have? That has been me for sure. Many days I’ve wondered the “why” of many things – with skin issues are so public, an out in front of you issue, I found it hard.
This month we are talking about women’s issues and products from Young Living that can serve you and the needs you may have. We are going to focus on nutrition and skin care and personal care.
Queen Esther –
In studying for this, my mind goes back to Esther and the process she went through in getting ready for the king. It is very over the top and quite luxurious but it does sound appealing – pampered, nourishing and relaxing. I’ve even had a teacher on this subject come into my circle of influence last night – amazing. I’m going to tap into her for added details.
Watch for the next email in this series. Have an awesome and blessed day – take care of yourself – you are important.
